Patricia “Patty” Bruce
Patty Bruce of Aurora, Colorado, fought daily health issues during the last five years and passed away on October 15, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Patty’s greatest love, passion and devotion was to her family. Her sweet pugs and other animals also brought joy to her life.
Her kindness, strength, wit, humor, compassion and stubbornness will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a talent for teaching self-improvement and helping others. Some of her famous quotes included, “Never end your sentence with a preposition; don’t walk over trash, pick it up; always look behind you when opening a door and hold it open for others; help others before they know they need help; always, always ask why; asking why ensures you keep learning and exploring.”
Patty enjoyed the music of Willie Nelson, Andrea Bocelli, Elvis and had a tiny fan crush on Ed Sheeran. She was a reading and poetry enthusiast. A few of her favorite treats were Peeps, black licorice, and Double Bubble. She connected and shared with the world through Facebook and Tik Tok. She captured the hearts of many with her warm personality and caring nature, especially with her knack to pave a path for those seeking direction and for recognizing people who didn’t feel acknowledged.
She is survived by her husband, William “Papa Willie;” her children, Bryon Bruce , Kelly Bruce; grandchildren, Josh Bruce, Max O’Dell; great granddaughters, M. J. and Eva, brothers, Jimmy and Bobby, and sister, Billie. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kim O’Dell, her brother Mike and her parents, Helen and William Kearns.
Per her wishes, no service will be held. Goodbye to you, dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great grandmother and friend.
