Noah Brackenbury Obituary

Noah Parysek Brackenbury, age 29, passed away suddenly on October 17, 2025, in Denver,
Colorado, after a seizure.

Born on February 11, 1996, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the youngest of four siblings, Noah’s warmth,
intellect, generosity and lively sense of fun left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
A 2014 graduate of Indian Hill High School, Noah served as President of the Senior Class and
was a National Merit Scholarship Awardee. He was also a dedicated member of his club and
high school swim teams, and an enthusiastic actor in student productions at Cincinnati
Shakespeare Company. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science, with a
minor in American Music, from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, in 2018. While at
Carleton, Noah distinguished himself both academically and athletically. He was a varsity
swimmer, and still holds two relay team records, both set in 2016. Noah also served as Head
Lifeguard, and Director of Carleton’s Experimental Dance Board, reflecting his leadership and
love of movement and music.

Professionally, Noah was a gifted coder who was determined to make technology help people.
As a Cloud Software Engineer at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC), he
played an integral role in development of cloud software for several initiatives, including a
project to advance understanding of human lung development; an investigation of the genetic
causes of congenital heart disease; and a consortium dedicated to improving outcomes and
advocacy for individuals living with rare diseases. His supervisors note that these contributions
will continue to benefit researchers and patients for years to come.

Beyond his professional and academic achievements, Noah will be remembered for his deep
love of dance, hip hop, EDM music, hiking, bouldering, hot sauce, and pickles. A talented
pianist, drummer, and composer of electronic music, he pursued these hobbies with wide-
ranging curiosity and passion.

Noah was powerfully charismatic and funny, and he loved to make people laugh, using his
nimble wit and body for comedic effect. He often struck silly faces and poses and was quick to
leap up into a tree branch, or dive into a break-dancing pose. He loved funky sweaters and
brightly colored street fashion. His fun and quirky exterior, however, masked a deeply serious
and profoundly reflective inner life. Noah was a complex person, whose soft-spoken nature
made his deep insights even more poignant and surprising.

In recent years, Noah faced profound challenges. He struggled with both mental and physical
health issues, including a seizure disorder, which seriously affected his quality of life. He also
was deeply angry at the unfairness and cruelty of the world, which led him to withdraw
significantly from the society of his friends and extended family. Despite these hardships, Noah
fought with courage and determination to regain his health and had recently begun to make real
progress.

Noah had a sensitive soul, whose spirit raged fiercely against the injustices of our inequitable
world. He was particularly saddened and frustrated by the existence of food insecurity in our
wealthy society and supported and volunteered at Café 180, a community restaurant in Denver
devoted to feeding those in need. If you wish to honor Noah by a donation in his memory,

Noah was cherished by his family, his parents, Robert William Brackenbury and Linda Marie
Parysek; his siblings, Jesse Brackenbury (Eileen Wilde), Lauren Bedson (Mark), and Will
Brackenbury (Elyse Dolan); niece Eve and nephews Henry, Oliver, Jack, Logan, and Avery;
aunts Marcia Grundtisch and Karen Parysek and late uncle Ken (Wendy English); godmother,
Jillian Jones; and cousins Lee, Tom, Aaron, Alex, Austin, Jeremy, Jeff, Tommy and Michael.
Noah is also affectionately remembered by close coworkers and family friends.

Remembrance gatherings will be held in Cincinnati in December 2025, and at the family farm in
Buffalo, NY in summer 2026. Noah, we will miss you all the days of our lives.
