Marta Lynn (Gnadt) Traver was born on December 19, 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri to Carolyn Louise (Cook) and Joseph William Gnadt. When she was just 6 months old, the young family moved to Colorado where Marta spent the rest of her life. She died on October 17, 2021 in Aurora, Colorado.
Growing up in Indian Hills, Marta graduated from Evergreen High School in 1969. Shortly afterward she joined the Navy and spend a short time stationed in Hawaii.
On May 14, 1977 she married Bill Traver and together they raised daughter Gina and son Evan. Marta spent a few years working in the field of office management.
Marta was a great cook, skilled at arts and crafts, and an excellent seamstress, having made several wedding gowns and bridesmaid’s dresses for friends over the years. She took great joy in designing and making her grandchildren’s Halloween costumes.
Marta had many challenges during her lifetime, however one thing that was true of her is that she had a big heart and was always there to help a friend in need.
Preceding her in death were her father and mother and one sister, Lisa. She is survived by her husband Bill; daughter Gina (Alex) Cortez; son Evan; grandchildren Alexis, Alex, Malaina, and Aubrey; sisters Brenda (Doug Bulen) Lear; Janet (Ralph) Babish; brother Jay (Angie) Gnadt and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be scheduled at a later date.
