Ann Collins Obituary

Ann Marie Collins

March 2, 1954 – October 15, 2021 (age 67)

Ann Marie Collins, age 67, loving Mama, Sister, Daughter and Dear Friend passed peacefully October 15, 2021, surrounded by family in the comfort of her home. Ann was born March 2, 1954 in Jackson, MS and lived in many different places until calling Colorado home for the past 17 years. She devoted her life to raising her one and only daughter, Amy, to loving her beautiful family and friends near and far, to her unwavering Faith, and to her innate ability to always give back to others - demonstrated in her personal life and professional career through Social Work. She was steadfast in her relationship with the Lord and embodied all Fruits of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Ann, “Annie”, was known for her kindness. She always knew how to make others feel special, loved and appreciated – a rare gift and a true light in all of the lives who were fortunate enough to know her. Her laugh was the most contagious laugh you’ve ever heard, combined with her southern accent, it would instantly bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart. She was a strong, spiritual woman who always put her faith in God and family first. Ann was a dedicated social worker for over 40 years, providing endless support and always acting as an advocate to improve the lives of others. She was genuine and selfless in everything she did, deeply caring for others throughout her entire life. She was always up for a good time, whether drinking margaritas or wine on the patio, rooting for the Broncos and Cowboys on football Sunday or following the Bachelorette since its inception – she just made everything feel fun and a reason to celebrate. She loved everything about the Hallmark store, picking out the most thoughtful cards and giving a gift – sometimes just because she saw something that reminded her of you. That’s the type of person she was. She was full of life and loved to spend it with her dear family, friends, and dog Lilli Mae. Beaver Creek, CO, Cabo, MX and the Lonestar state held a special place in her heart, with so many wonderful memories that will forever be cherished.

Ann bravely fought brain cancer before being taken from this earth too soon. There was not a doubt in her mind where she was going and we hold comfort in knowing she is in Heaven, now a beautiful Guardian Angel to so many. She will be immensely missed by all. Ann touched the lives of so many people and her legacy will be celebrated every single day. Her kind heart, her contagious laugh and beautiful soul will live on forever.

Ann was preceded by her parents, Mae Alice Jones, JR and Bobbie Jones and her nephew, Daniel Jones. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Collins; siblings, Jim Jones, Beth Jones and Haley McLane; nephews, Steve Jones, Dave Jones, Mike Jones; favorite Brother-in-Law, Ronnie B; chosen Son, Travis Rawls and many loving extended family members and lifelong friends.
