Amy Meyer Obituary

Amy Yvonne Schweitzer Meyer, age 53, earned her heavenly wings on September 14, 2021. She was born on November 21,1967 in Denver,  CO to Dave and Judi Schweitzer.
Amy was the middle child with Becky being the eldest and David(DJ) the youngest. Amy wed her true love, Fred Meyer, on June 20,1992. Their union produced one child, son, Joel Meyer.

Amy attended Westminster High School, graduating in 1986. While in high school,  Amy was a member of the orchestra, color guard and drama club. She was also a member of Job's Daughters Bethel 18. She went on to get an associates degree in criminal justice. Although she never went on to work in that field, Amy held many jobs over the years. When Joel started high school, she started to work in the cafeteria at Holy Family. After Joel graduated, Amy remained working there until her passing. She was proud to be known as the cookie lady. She loved the students and treated the kids like her own.

When Amy was 11, she was diagnosed with kidney disease. After she graduated, it was necessary for her to start dialysis. In 1993, she received a transplant that lasted 13 years. After that kidney failed, she went back on dialysis until her passing. Her kidney disease caused her to have many health issues, resulting in many challenges trying for another transplant. Through all of her trials, Amy remained positive facing each challenge with a kind word and a smile. Amy was such an inspiration to all who knew her. Amy made friends easily and cherished each one.

Amy is survived by her husband, Fred, and son, Joel.
